If you're trying to hide the grow from your housemates, even with a carbon filter, this is a risky proposition. Smell Proof Your Spacebucket With a Carbon Filter. Get the apple crumble, drill a few 1/4 inch holes in it, and leave it in you living room with a small fan blowing over it.
When your plants start to flower, the smell of cannabis is going to get quite strong. Just opening the bucket once a day, and then opening your bedroom door, will be enough to put the odor into the rest of the house. The most effective solution for controlling plant odors in Space Bucket gardens are inline fans with a specially designed filter. Since the bucket doesn’t have enough room inside for a filter, you will have to blow the dank air out through the filter. Northern Lights as most have mentioned is a "Low odor" strain. Attaching a carbon filter to your exhaust fan should reduce this smell substantially. ONA will kill most any smell and also work well for the harvest which is something most people overlook (a carbon filter is not going to help with a Space Bucket harvest unless the whole room is being filtered and a harvest can be very stinky). There will be some smell but it wont be as stinky as other plants. These are the same filters that tent growers use, and because of that they tend to be bulky, expensive, quite loud and is another piece of equipment using electricity. I can also account for Joint Dr's Lowryder. 2 years ago You might want some Ona in the living room. A well designed/sized carbon filter(s) is going to contain the odor of any plant(s), including the more stinky indica "blue" and "purple" strains, regardless of grow size to include commercial grow ops. Or, if they are unfamiliar with the smell of fresh bud, they will smell something sweet/piney. You still will need (to cover your ass not to grow) a carbon filter for your bucket/tent or whatever you grow in.
